ACHIEVEMENTS

Upstage is a member of the South African Association of Talent, Modelling and Entertainment (SAATME). We have seen great success in the competitive and professional arena, achieving a long list of prestigious awards. Some of our highlights include:

World Championships of the Performing Arts

 

• In 2022 and 2015 an Upstage student won the Overall Acting Award in Los Angeles USA.

• 24 of our students have attended the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles and have been awarded several scholarships for New York Film Academy and New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts.

 

 

South African Championships of the Performing Arts

 

• Overall Top Studio in 2012, 2018 and 2023.

• Overall Top Acting Group Award in 2021.

• Overall Top Acting Student in 2022.

• Overall Top Coach Award in 2015.

National Eisteddfod of South Africa

 

• Upstage has won the Top Overall Institution for the National Eisteddfod of South Africa at National level for over 5 years and at Regional level for over 11 years.

 

 

Other Achievements

 

• Several of our current and former students have had the opportunity to work and succeed in the film, music and theatre industry, both locally and internationally. 

• Over the past few years, 36 Upstagers have been awarded cultural scholarships for the top schools in Johannesburg.
