Success and Participation
A large part of our students’ successes can be attributed to the consistent work done in class throughout the year. Our weekly lessons differ from competition training in that they provide the students with the opportunity to explore and master various skills and
techniques, build a repertoire of work to draw on and build performance fitness. This is vital not only to their competition preparation, but it is a key ingredient for success in all aspects of performing.
At Upstage we believe in coaching well-rounded children and equipping them for life, not only one competition. This is why we retain a strict policy that students wanting to compete with the Upstage Team for SA Championships and World Championships must be enrolled from 1 January each year and must attend at least 80% of classes over the course of the entire year. The same policy applies to students wanting to audition for the Upstage Productions.
Should you join the studio during the year, we will meet with you to assess and discuss competition participation on an individual basis.
